TIRANA, July 20 – The huge file compiled by the Special Prosecutor’s Office against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK), which requested the removal of the parliamentary immunity of former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj, has brought to light other truths.
Three charges are leveled against the former minister as following: refusal to declare, non-declaration, concealment or false declaration of assets; passive corruption of high state officials or local elected officials and laundering of the proceeds of criminal offense or criminal activity in collaboration, more than once. All these accusations are foreseen by several articles of the Criminal Code, according to newsbomb.al on Thursday.
The 320-page voluminous file mentioned Ahmetaj, businessmen Klodian Zoto and Mirel Mërtiri as well as the Tirana mayor, Erion Veliaj. But not only the above persons are mentioned as there are many other persons, even outside of politics, in the list discovered by this in-depth investigation by SPAK.
A detailed research of the file made by newsbomb.al shows all the persons mentioned by SPAK and the portal in question publishes the entire list of names. Former deputy prime minister, mayors, businessmen, employers and employees of various legal entities or even receptionists of hotels abroad, are part of this file. /argumentum.al
