TIRANA, July 24 – The leadership of the Democratic Party (DP) headed by its former chairman Lulzim Basha has made a decision to remove the seal of the party from General Secretary Gazment Bardhi.
With the proposal of 1/5 of the members, the Chair meeting of July 18 decided that the seal will be produced and administered by the secretary of legal and electoral affairs, Indrit Sefa.
The Chairmanship’s decision was made after the objections of the general secretary, Gazment Bardhi, and a group of deputies regarding the election process for the party chairman, which will be held on July 29.
But Gazment Bardhi described these actions as ridiculous, adding that the statute of the party is not changed by a decision of the Chairmanship, and even less by a decision without a quorum of it.
“It is not my habit to comment on ridiculous actions and acts under the effect of despair,” Bardhi said, adding that the Party’s Statute is not changed by a decision of the Chairmanship, much less by a decision without a quorum of it.
“The statute is the common will of about 7,000 members of the National Assembly of the DP. For this reason anyone one should refer only to the provisions of the Statute regarding the function of the DP because anyone can get signed letters on any decision for the sequestration by the “Chairmanship of the DP” of the crown of the King of England!” said Bardhi. /argumentum.al
