TIRANA, July 25 – The mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, hosted the ambassador of Qatar in Tirana, Ali bin Hamad Al Marri, to whom, as a sign of gratitude for his contribution and cooperation, he presented him with the Key of the City. Veliaj wished success to the ambassador, Ali bin Hamad Al Marri, who successfully completed his mandate in Tirana.
“Today is definitely a day of joy, because we appreciate a dear friend, but it is also a day when we say thank you, goodbye to a good friend until next time, because the ambassador of Qatar ends his service in Tirana. He received all the thanks from our Foreign Minister, the Prime Minister, the President of the Republic, but I especially feel a special thanks and gratitude for him,” said Veliaj.
According to him, the ambassador of Qatar will be remembered for the schools, the kindergartens, for the aid distributed in the days of the earthquake and the pandemic, for the vaccines, for all the organizations of activities during the World Cup in Qatar, for the sports days, for the help he gave Albanians for the Year of Youth and for this year when Tirana is the European City of Sport.
Qatar’s ambassador in Tirana, Ali bin Hamad Al Marri, thanked Veliaj for the fruitful cooperation that Qatar and Tirana have achieved.
“During my 5-year mandate in Tirana, I have found an open door of cooperation thanks to the mayor of Tirana, through whom we have done a lot of good work, and I am very happy that this cooperation has yielded tangible results. On difficult days, we stood by each other, whether during the earthquake or during the pandemic,” said the Ambassador.
Ali bin Hamad Al Marri said they had the opportunity to accelerate the final project of the New Boulevard. “I can’t help but be proud that during my mandate other projects were also approved and I will definitely come for a personal visit in the next few days.
