TIRANA, August 8 – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku announced on Tuesday that work has started on a segment of the Blue Corridor, which will connect the north with the south of Albania.
In a post on social networks, Balluku published the map of the infrastructural road network where investments will be concentrated for the realization of this important project.
“The increased number of visitors this season has undoubtedly aggravated the inherited traffic situation in the Milot – Kashar area,” said Balluku.
According to her, this is the start of the works to connect Western Albania from north to south with the Blue Corridor. Work is being done at a fast pace in Thumanë – Kashar segment and more than 40% of the volume has been completed to continue with the segments Milot – Thumanë and Kashar – Lekaj.
“There are three contracts for the road axis Lekaj – Fier that we are concluding to start work immediately. Meanwhile, we open the construction competition for the segment Milot – Balldrenin the fall and the road Murriqan – Lezhë, which is the segment that connects Albania with Montenegro. Currently, the relevant consultants are drafting the preliminary project, which is expected to be delivered in December 2023,” said Balluku. /argumentum.al
