TIRANA, August 17 – The new Chargé d’Affaires of the US Embassy in Tirana, David Wisner, has recently met with Yuri Kim, Acting Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, in Washington DC, the US Embassy in Tirana announced on Thursday.
The Assistant Secretary in Charge congratulated Wisner on his new assignment in Albania.
They discussed the strong US-Albania partnership and continued cooperation in the areas of democracy, defense and business.
In another event, Interior Minister Taulant Balla held a meeting on Thursday with the US Chargé d’Affaires, H. Martin McDowell.
Minister Balla published the details of the meeting on social networks. During the meeting, the US-Albania cooperation in the field of law enforcement and support for a number of security-related issues were discussed.
According to Balla, the self-cleansing of the State Police is a process that has just entered a new phase and will continue until the end.
