TIRANA, August 24 – Export in Kosovo is covering import by 13.1%. The data from the office of foreign trade of goods in Kosovo show a higher trade deficit of 4.4% in July compared to the same period of the previous year.
Exports in Kosovo with the CEFTA countries reached 27.6 million Euros or 41% of the total exports with an increase of 6.8%.
Albania ranks as the main partner where Kosovo exports 14.3%, followed by North Macedonia with 13.3% and then Montenegro and Serbia.
As for imports, which reached 73.9 million Euros with the CEFTA countries, North Macedonia leads with 5.9%, followed by Albania 5.4% and then Serbia 1.3%.
Regarding EU countries Kosovo exports the most goods to Germany, followed by Italy and the Netherlands.
Important partners for the export of goods are the USA with 11.7% and Switzerland with 8.7%.
According to KAS data, the main export groups are base metals and their byproducts with 22.2%, rubber plastics and their byproducts – 14.5%, prepared foods, drinks and tobacco – 10.5% to be followed by plant products and those of textile.
During this period Kosovo has imported more mineral products, prepared foods, drinks, tobacco, mechanical and electrical equipment as well as means of transport. /argumentuma.al
