TIRANA, August 26 – The Albanian citizen, otherwise known as “Niko” or “El Gordo”, was arrested in Santa Marta, Colombia, accused of alliances with Colombian drug traffickers.
The Albanian drug dealer was wanted in more than 180 countries around the world and was considered a high-value target by the French authorities, Europol and Interpol.
The Prosecutor’s Office and the Police arrested in Santa Marta (Magdalena) the Albanian citizen, Besnik Nikolli, known as the alias “Niko” or “El Gordo”, who is wanted by the French authorities through an Interpol red circular for the crime of drug trafficking since October 2021.
The arrested person was also involved in money laundering crimes and was wanted in more than 180 countries.
It was determined from the information possessed by the investigative body that the alias ‘Niko’ was in the service of drug trafficking structures that have committed crimes in France, Albania, the Netherlands and Germany.
His presence in Colombia was apparently intended to establish contacts with drug trafficking networks. /argumentum.al
