TIRANA, September 17 – President Bajram Begaj left on Sunday for New York, where he will lead the Albanian state delegation, which will participate in the proceedings of the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Together with the heads of state/government of 193 UN member countries, Begaj will deliver a speech at the General Debate of the United Nations General Assembly.
Also, Begaj will participate in the High Level Political Forum for Sustainable Development, which will be held in New York on the eve of the 78th Session of the UN General Assembly.
The President will speak in the panel of the Dialogue of Leaders alongside the heads of the official delegations of other countries.
During his stay in New York, President Begaj will hold bilateral meetings with other heads of state and high-ranking US officials, but also with representatives of the Albanian Diaspora associations in the US.
Apparently no activity is scheduled for the President in the frame of the UN Security Council chaired by Albania during September. It is officially announced by a diplomatic source that PM Edi Rama, who is already in New York, will chair two events in the UNSC and will meet the UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres. /argumentum.al
