TIRANA, October 3 – Speaker of the Assembly Lindita Nikolla met with the new Ambassador of Sweden, Niklas Strömo on Tuesday focusing on increasing political, economic and parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.
Nikolla thanked the parliament, the government and the embassy of Sweden in Tirana for the continuous support of the development and democratization of Albania.
She underlined that there are all possibilities that, in addition to being a donor, Sweden could also become a powerful economic and commercial partner of Albania. In addition, she said, Albania will continue to support Sweden’s rapid membership in NATO, as a way to protect peace and security in Europe and beyond.
The Ambassador of Sweden, Ström said that it is a privilege to serve in Albania and cooperate with the Parliament, the government, the institutions and the citizens to strengthen the relations and friendship between the two countries, which are growing day by day.
“Sweden will strongly support Albania’s EU membership as an increasingly important country for Sweden, a close ally in the UN, OSCE and other international organizations,” he said. /argumentum.al
