TIRANA, October 6 – The Foreign Minister of Serbia, Ivica Dacic, has refused to take part in the family photo with the Western Balkans Foreign Ministers and some European Union ministers, after the start of the meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Berlin Process in Tirana on Friday.
After the arrival of the ministers, a joint photo was taken, in which the Serbian foreign minister, Ivica Dacic, did not participate because of the presence of the Foreign Minister of, Donika Gërvalla.
Some 24 delegations from the member countries of the Berlin Process took part at the meeting of foreign ministers which precedes the Berlin Process summit that will be held in Tirana on October 16.
The meeting was attended by EC Enlargement Commissioner, Oliver Varhelyi, EAS representative, Angelina Eichhorst, the foreign ministers of Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina as well as member countries of the Berlin Process such as Germany, Austria, Greece, Hungary, etc.
In the meantime Tanjug reported on Friday that Serbian FM Dacic said on Friday he had had a “difficult but fair” meeting with German FM Annalena Baerbock in Tirana and that he had pointed out that double standards must be avoided in a resolution of the Kosovo-Metohija issue, as well as that the latest escalation in the Serbian province was a result of failure to implement the provisions of the Brussels Agreement.
“I have just finished a meeting with German FM Annalena Baerbock, who requested it. The meeting was difficult, but fair as well. We both presented our opinions. I said it is important to beware of double standards and that everyone’s opinion needs to be taken into account. We do not consider Kosovo as an independent state,” Dacic said in Tirana, where he attended a meeting of Berlin Process foreign ministers.
He noted that Baerbock had told him the crisis in Kosovo-Metohija was a result of failure to comply with the Ohrid Agreement, which also includes the Brussels Agreement, and that she believed a Community of Serb Municipalities must be formed. /argumentum.al
