TIRANA, October 21 – The Chairman of the Democratic Party (DP), Sali Berisha, had a meeting with some young students, studying at the largest private university in Hungary, Mathias Corvinus Collegium.
Berisha discussed with them the common friendship between the two countries and the drama that communism caused in Albania and Hungary. Berisha emphasized that Albania suffered from a triple dictatorship.
During this meeting, Berisha underlined the importance of pluralism, saying that it can easily be lost. “It is vital that we invest as much as possible in educating the younger generations about the importance of political pluralism and how easily it can be lost. It is precisely pluralism, free competition, limiting the role of the state, freedom of speech and the media, these are the values that enabled Albania to get out of the clutches of communist poverty, turning within two decades into a regional reference,” said Berisha.
He said that PM Edi Rama is only taking Albania backwards in every direction. /argumentum.al
