TIRANA, October 31 – The Council for Ethics in the Assembly decided on Tuesday for the 10-day exclusion of opposition MPs, namely Bledion Nallbati, Flamur Noka, Edi Paloka, Albana Vokshi and Gazment Bardhi.
Meanwhile, Saimir Korreshi was expelled for 3 days. It is also learned that no disciplinary measures have been taken against Lefter Gështenja.
The Council for Ethics in the Assembly started the examination of the request of the parliamentary group of the Socialist Party to take disciplinary measures for seven opposition MPs, who the day before were part of clashes between opposition and majority in the plenary session in the Assembly.
The commission’s proceedings were attended not only by the seven MPs for whom disciplinary measures are requested but also other MPs from the opposition.
Saimir Koreshi was the first to take the floor and express his position, but then the other opposition legislators requested the presence of the media, interrupting the speech of the chairwoman of the Council of Ethics, Klotilda Bushka. At this moment, Bushka requested the termination of the meeting.
“It is unacceptable to make a decision without asking the deputies. We will fight this battle in parliament and everywhere else. We came here for open debate on the unlawful motives of their ten-day exclusion, but we are not allowed. The plan will fail. There will be no parliament of thugs,” said DP head Sali Berisha. /argumentum.al
