TIRANA, November 4 – The Deputy Chairman of the Municipal Council of Tirana, part of the “Reestablishment” group of the Democratic Party headed by Sali Berisha, Dorian Teliti commented on the draft budget approved by the Government for the year 2024 in a news conference on Saturday.
According to him, this is not the budget of the enterprises since there is no facilitating policy for doing business, moreover, many of the businesses will face the increase in excise taxes and the costs that it entails.
“Is this the budget of freelancers? No, it’s not, on the contrary, although they have built their business with a lot of sweat, next year freelancers will be taxed and will pay an additional 28 million euros from their own pockets,” said Teliti.
He added that the 2024 budget is not even the health and education budget, since, according to him, health will receive only 2.8% of PPP, and education only 2.3% of GDP.
According to Teliti, the 2024 budget is neither for agriculture, farmers nor pensioners.
“Is this the budget of families in need? No, it is not, as these families will not receive a single penny more, although even the alms they receive from the budget will be reduced even more by the inflation of the following months. There is no question of any supportive social package being undertaken by the government,” he said
Teliti commented that the government plans to legislate gambling again and receive 18.7 million euros in tax from this illegal business, while there are at least 195 million euros, which will have to be paid for the implementation of the decisions of international courts. /argumentum.al
