TIRANA, November 9 – An unusual situation was created in the Assembly when the hall was covered with smoke during the plenary session on Thursday.
The deputy of the Democratic Party (DP), Saimir Korreshi, lit a smoke firework in the Assembly.
As the Assembly hall was filled with smoke, the Speaker, Lindita Nikolla expelled Korreshi from the session. Then she asked for the intervention of the guard to establish order.
DP head Sali Berisha reacted by saying that the MPs cannot be affected. “The opposition is determined not to allow normal parliamentary life until its demands are met: the establishment of investigative commissions, inclusion in the electoral reform commission, the majority to give up involvement in the internal developments of the opposition,” he said.
As the smoke filled the hall, the Minister of the Interior, Taulant Balla took the floor. He asked the DP deputies not to be misused by the personal interests of an individual, referring to former Prime Minister Berisha.
“Legislation is the primary duty of the MP. This image shows that you have not taken this job seriously because it worsens the relationship with people. My appeal to most right-wing MPs is: please don’t be misused by a man’s personal interest and plight,” said Balla. /argumentum.al
