TIRANA, November 13 – Democratic MP Gazmend Bardhi has again warned of opposition action after the meeting of the Parliamentary group of the Democratic Party (DP) on Monday.
Bardhi, head of the DP parliamentary group, said that the opposition demands the respect of constitutional rights in the Assembly, just as a democratic country demands.
“We will continue our action to make it impossible for the majority to hold meetings. They are urging us to go to extreme acts. The opposition is together in parliament and outside it. We are talking about compliance with the regulation, they move on to a new violation,” he said.
In the meantime, former Prime Minister Sali Berisha said in a statement to the media that the opposition is ready to go on hunger strike if the government continues to violate their rights in Parliament.
Berisha said that any law that goes against the constitution and laws of the country will not be recognized by the opposition.
“Absolutely, they (MPs) are ready tomorrow, but the hunger strike and any other act will be taken at the right time. You saw that a consultation with the citizens has been launched, the opposition is in action. The readiness of the citizens is extraordinary,” he said.
According to Berisha, no law that goes against the constitution and laws of the country will be recognized by the opposition. “You saw how they passed many laws in 15 minutes and examined them in violation of the law without meeting commissions,” he said. / argumentum.al
