TIRANA, November 25 – From January 1, 2024 Albania will take over the presidency of the Central European Initiative (CEI).
In a post on the X platform on Saturday, Foreign Minister Igli Hasani said that, “while Albania takes the leadership of the CEI, we remain committed to advancing the CEI’s goals for regional cooperation and EU integration.”
He expressed gratitude to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova, Nicu Popescu, for the extraordinary work of the Moldovan CEI Presidency.
“As Albania assumes the presidency of the Central European Initiative (CEI), we remain committed to advancing the mission and goals of CEI in promoting regional cooperation, EU integration and sustainable development. Acknowledgement to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova, Nicu Popescu, for the extraordinary work of the Moldovan CEI Presidency in supporting the candidate countries in their journey towards EU integration,” said Hasani. /argumentum.al
