Businesses from Kosovo have increased their interest in investing in Albania. In 2023, they invested over 50 million euros, mainly in the field of trade and construction.
Trade and economic relations between Albania and Kosovo have developed significantly in recent years. Bilateral requests for investments have led to increased interest between the two states, especially after 2021.
In the analysis of the Bank of Albania, Kosovo was ranked fourth in the list of foreign investors in Albania in 2023.
Until the month of September, the flow of new investments was 50 million euros, occupying an important place after investments from the Netherlands, the United States of America and Italy.
The stock of investments from Kosovo has reached 277 million euros, with an annual increase of 46%, while investments from neighbors are mainly concentrated in the trade and construction sector.
Even the total amount that is reflected in the analysis of foreign direct investments in the first 9 months in Albania, reaches 1.1 billion euros, the highest historical level ever recorded for this period of the year.
