President Bajram Begaj received the Diplomatic Corps with the accredited ambassadors in Tirana in a ceremony at the Palace of Brigades.
The head of state emphasized the importance of the support of the Western Balkans by the European Union through the creation of mechanisms that enable not only political alignment, but also economic progress and facilities for the daily life of citizens.
“For the Albanians in the region, membership in the EU is a matter of national interest,” declared President Begaj, adding that the Albanian factor has contributed and will continue to contribute to peace and security in the region.
As for Kosovo, President Begaj called for international recognition from those states that have not undertaken this act and ending the status quo in order to avoid situations like the September 2023 attack in Banjska that could bring serious consequences for the region and Europe. He welcomed the liberalization of visas for the citizens of Kosovo and reiterated his stance on its Euro-Atlantic integration.
