The chairman of the Democratic Union for Integration, Ali Ahmeti, has announced that Bujar Osmani will be his party`s candidate in the presidential elections. Under the slogan “No to Russia, yes to Europe”, Ahmeti called on citizens to support Bujar Osmani as president of the RNM, so that, as he said, the influence of Russia would be stopped.
The head of the DUI, Ali Ahmeti, said that it was about time to change the Constitution as far as the election of the president is concerned, that is, the president should be elected in the Assembly by the MPs.
“The polar bear, Russia is knocking on our door and has interfered in all the pores of our society and influencing the party scene in the country. Russia is present in political parties, in the media, in civil society, and in every social segment, not only here, but also in the region. Putin and Lavrov declared that RNM’s membership in NATO is the line of fire. We are witnessing that EU membership is not possible for us and we are being isolated again. Macedonia is a small country at the crossroads of civilizations. Therefore, I invite you to come together and fight the last battle of the eternal war and say together ‘no to Russia, yes to Europe’, “Ahmeti noted.
Ahmeti also invited the MPs to approve the constitutional changes for the inclusion of the Bulgarian community in the Constitution of the Republic of North Macedonia.
Meanwhile, Bujar Osmani’s opponent in the race for the country’s president will be Arben Taravari, who has been proposed by the united opposition parties.
Last night, it was also confirmed that Gordana Siljanovska will OBRM-PDUKM candidate, while these days it is expected that SDSM will propose Stevo Pendarovski for another mandate.
