The President of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, is paying a visit to Ankara.
During this visit, Meta held meetings with the main leaders of the Turkish opposition. Meta was received in a meeting today by the Leader of the “Deva” Party, Ali Babaxhan at the headquarters of this party. Meta and Babaxhan expressed their determination to strengthen relations between the two countries but also between the two parties.
“I congratulated Babaxhan for the victory of the local elections by the opposition and I appreciated his vision for strengthening democracy and European values”, emphasized Meta in a reaction.
“Turkey needs such a personality with a vision for democracy and the economy,” said Meta.
During the official visit to Turkey, the chairman of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, also met with the former Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, where, among other things, the 25th anniversary of the liberation of Kosovo was discussed!
“It was a pleasure to be welcomed at the headquarters of the Party “Future” by its leader, Prof. Ahmet Davutoglu.
I thanked him for his historic contribution in support of the Independence of Kosovo and its recognition as former Foreign Minister and former Prime Minister of Turkey.
At this moment of the 25th anniversary of the Liberation of Kosovo, we appreciated how much Kosovo’s independence has served stability and security in our region”, declared former president Meta after the meeting with Davutoglu.
They have also emphasized the importance of all-round strengthening of relations between the two countries and the vital importance of Europeanizing reforms.
“We agreed on the strengthening of relations between our two parties and the importance of increasing the contribution of the opposition in both countries to the strengthening of democracy and the rule of law, as a vital basis for the well-being of our citizens!”, Meta declared, announcing his meeting with the former Turkish Prime Minister, Ahmet Davutoglu.
Meta also introduced the newest member of the Freedom Party, in charge of Relations with Turkey, Deniz Gücler.
Today, Meta also met with the leader of the Turkish opposition, Ozgur Ozel. Ozger Ozel is the leader of the Republican People’s Party (CHP), the main opposition force founded by Ataturk.
Meta said that “I congratulated him not only for his election at the head of this historic party, but also for the impressive victory of the opposition in the last local elections”.
Also, at the meeting, the interlocutors shared the common assessment that strong friendship relations between our countries and peoples require a common and unstoppable commitment based on the best traditional, democratic and European values.
