Tirana, November 30, 2024,
The Council of Albanian Ambassadors strongly condemns the criminal and terrorist attacks of recent days in Kosovo, which pose a serious threat to security and stability in the region.
The repeated acts of violence, including the explosion of grenades near the institutions and the damage to the vital channel, the Ibër-Lepenci water supply, are deliberate actions to undermine the integrity of the Republic of Kosovo and create insecurity among its citizens.
The attack on the Ibër-Lepenc canal, which supplies cities with water and KEK with resources for energy production, is an unprecedented and criminal act that threatens the supply of water and energy for thousands of citizens.
This constitutes a clear attempt to hit critical infrastructure and paralyze the normal life of Kosovo citizens.
We share the concern of the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo that these attacks were organized and orchestrated by criminal and paramilitary structures, supported by officials Belgrade.
The involvement of figures known for their destabilizing activities in the region is a direct threat to the peace and security of the entire Balkans.
The Council of Albanian Ambassadors calls on the international community, especially the United States of America and the European Union, to put pressure on Serbia to stop supporting these destabilizing actions and to protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Kosovo.
In addition, we call on the citizens of Kosovo to keep calm and follow the instructions of the state institutions in the face of these provocations.
At this critical moment, we stand united with the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo and its people, reaffirming our steadfast support for the preservation of peace, democracy and international law.
These terrorist and criminal acts will not triumph, as justice and the rule of law will once again emerge victorious.
