TIRANA – Four new cases of citizens affected by coronavirus have been announced by the Health Public Institute taking to six the total number of people infected by Covid-19 in Albania on early Tuesday.
Three of the newly diagnosed patients are relatives of the two first cases announced on Sunday evening, who are father and son, residents in Tirana. The fourth case is a 31-year-old citizen in Tirana who recently traveled to Milano, Italy. He is being treated with the others, and according to official reports, the patients are showing mild coronavirus symptoms.
So far, 77 persons were tested for coronavirus in Albania, and 6 of them resulted to be infected by Covid-19.
“Actually all the persons who had contacts with the affected patients are being held in enforced self- quarantine being observed by specialists of epidemiology with regard to their health state,” said the Health Ministry.
In the meantime it reiterated last Monday evening the appeal to the citizens to follow strictly the official recommendations and particularly to take care of the personal hygiene.
All educational institutions in Albania have been closed for a two-week period and flights to Northern Italy have been cancelled until April 3.In an extraordinary meeting last Monday the government launched the advise that in the current situation, as in any other unusual situations, it is indispensable to stay calm and to follow the rules of certified official sources./argumentum.al
