TIRANA – North Macedonia’s health minister Venko Filipce said that the country has confirmed 18 new coronavirus cases, bringing the tally to 617 as of Wednesday, reported SeeNews on Thursday.
The number of deaths related to the coronavirus disease increased to 29, whereas 35 patients have recovered from the infection so far, Filipce said in a Twitter post on Wednesday.
The country expects the outbreak to peak at the end of April, when the number of coronavirus cases is expected to reach between 2,000 and 2,500, prime minister Oliver Spasovski said at a conference on Monday.
In mid-March, North Macedonia’s president Stevo Pendarovski declared a 30-day nationwide state of emergency over the coronavirus outbreak.
As of Wednesday, curfew hours in the country will be from 4 pm to 5 am. In addition, people under the age of 18 will be allowed to move only between 1 pm and 3 pm, while those with over 67 of age can leave their homes only between 10 am and 12 pm. There will also be a 24-hour curfew on weekends for all citizens./argumentum.al
