TIRANA – There were 17 new cases of affected persons with coronavirus during the last 24 hours, said on Saturday in the daily medical update Deputy Minister of Health Mira Rakacolli who took the opportunity to make a comment on the condition of the children affected by the virus.
“So far there are 16 children affected by coronavirus, but fortunately none of them has ever needed hospital care and they are in very good condition,” she said. The Deputy Minister also announced that there is no pregnant woman affected by COVID-19 who has given birth to her child. “So far no pregnant woman with COVID-19 has given birth to her child.”
Rakacolli said that the total number of people infected with Covid -19 has amounted to 433 while the number of the hospitalized persons at the two Covid hospitals in Tirana stands at 60. Since the peak of last Saturday when the number of affected persons was 29 the tally has fluctuated between 17 and 7, according to the official who highlighted the indispensability of respecting the set restrictions.
Asked about the tightening of measures in the criminal code, Rakacolli said that the government acts in accordance with the recommendations made by the Committee of Experts.
“Everything the government does is in line with the recommendations made by the Committee of Experts, which are based on a very detailed analysis of the current situation with the numbers of those affected and the trend of the epidemic. Undoubtedly, all this is done in consultation with the WHO,” she said./argumentum.al
