TIRANA – Down from a day before (17 cases) the number of new infected persons with Covid-19 was 13 during the last 24 hours, according to the daily bulletin of Albanian medical authorities.

“Some 13 new cases have resulted positive rising to 446 the total number of people affected with coronavirus,” said the expert at the Institute of Public Health, Marjeta Dervishi on Sunday.

According to her, 3877 suspected cases have been tested so far and of these 446 people have been found out to be infected with Covid-19. ‘In the last 24 hours, 20 other patients have recovered, bringing the number of patients healed to 217. In two COVID hospitals there are currently 49 patients in need of medical care. The map of those affected by Covid-19 has expanded in Tirana with 6 cases, Shkodra 5 cases and Durres with 2 cases,” said expert Dervishi.
The worst hit place is Capital Tirana with 215 cases followed by Shkodra with 57 cases. The prefect of this northern city was dismissed last Friday being accused of negligence in his work to prevent the spread of the pandemic in town. /argumentum.al
