TIRANA – Austria has come to the aid of Albania providing protective equipment in the fight against coronavirus pandemic. An announcement on the FB account of the Austrian Embassy on Wednesday it is said that a delivery of an amount of examination gloves and medical disinfectant arrived in Albania which was handed over to the local authorities by the Head of the Austrian Embassy in Tirana, Dr. Christian Steiner.
“Today, on 13 May 2020 handover of Austrian assistance (2000 packages of examination gloves and 3740 l of medical disinfectant) at State Reserves to Ministry of Defense of Albania. Request made through EU Civil Protection Mechanism in solidarity with Albania,” said the Austrian Embassy in its FB post.
Some days ago it was announced that the European Commission stated on Twitter that Albania had requested gloves and disinfectants, which had been provided by Austria. The aid is already being prepared by the EU to be launched in Albania.
In another event IPA- Skodrini Region, following the service organised by IPA- Albania Section handed over a number of masks to Albanian and Montenegrin police officers at Hani i Hotit Border Crossing Point. The donation was made possible thanks to the special care of the Honorary Consul of Austria Gjergj Leqejza and the contribution of Kimay Madish Company. /argumentum.al
