TIRANA – A threefold rise of the number of the new cases was confirmed on Thursday by local health authorities in Albania in a show that the virus is unpredictable in its spread.
According to the Public Health Institute, 18 new coronavirus infected cases have been found in Albania in the last 24 hours.
Since the beginning of the pandemic on March 9 this year, there have been 898 cases in all, 694 (77%) of which have recovered.
The 18 new coronavirus infected cases found in the last 24 hours were confirmed in Tirana (11), Kruja (4), Berat (2) and Durres (1).
A total of 11,239 people have been tested in total, with 191 tests carried out in the last 24 hours, said the medical bulletin of the ISHP on Thursday.
In terms of hospitalizations, 19 patients are on the wards and 3 are in intensive care. Less than 15% of those infected have needed hospitalization.
The death toll remains unchanged at 31./argumentum.al
