DP’s Basha Confirms He Isn’t Aware of Any US Election Proposal for Albania
TIRANA – The opposition Democratic Party (DP) has declared that it favors open lists as part of the change to the electoral system in Albania, while it is not aware of any US proposal on the electoral system of this country.
Asked if he had seen an American proposal on the electoral system, DP head Lulzim Basha said: “I have not seen any American proposal on the electoral system.” Further on he was asked if he was aware of a Danish system. “I have already answered your question,” was Basha’s sharp answer.
“We will be in favor of open lists and change to the electoral system,” Basha said in a press conference on Wednesday during which he revealed that he favored the majoritarian electoral system, a two- chamber parliament, limitation of deputies’ mandate and that of PM.
Basha closed his comment repeating his stance that nothing will have meaning on elections as long as the monitor of the elections is Edi Rama, the stealer of elections, in Albania./argumentum.al
