TIRANA – The balance sheet of the coronavirus impact shows an aggravation of the C19 disease in Albania with 6 fatalities and 117 new infected cases being confirmed during the last 24 hours, according to the medical bulletin of the Ministry of Health released on Monday. Among other things, it is learned that there has been an increase in the number of people hospitalized.
“The increase of new cases has continued even during the week we left behind. The weekly average of new cases has been about 96 cases per day. It is noted that there has been a significant increase in hospitalizations at the two COVID hospitals,” said the bulletin which specified that the situation becomes more serious as the number of patients in intensive care and intubation has also grown, which has unfortunately been associated with loss of life.
The bulletin states that the age of the six fatalities varies from 49 to 76 years and three victims are of mid-50s.
The detailed bulletin said some 500 tests were performed on suspects affected by COVID-19, of which 117 positive cases were confirmed. The geographical distribution of cases is as follows: 63 cases in Tirana, 10 in Durrës, 8 in Fier, 4 cases in Kukës and Has, 3 cases in Kruja and Lushnja, 2 cases in Korça, Elbasan, Kavaja, Tepelena, and Divjaka , and 1 case in Shkodra, Kurbin, Lezha, Vlora, Mirdita, Mallakastra, Përmet, Saranda, Dibra, Himara, Klos and Shijak.
“All citizens are urged to show caution by respecting the measures, reminding them of the legal obligation to wear the mask in any enclosed environment, to respect the social distance and maintain hygiene,” concluded the Health Ministry. /argumentum.al
