TIRANA – Four fatalities and 92 new cases were registered due to the coronavirus epidemic during the last 24 hours, said Mirela Cami, Director of Operations of Health Care Services (OHCS) on Thursday.
In the daily medical bulletin Cami stressed that a 31-year-old man from Tirana was among the 4 patients who lost their life.
“The situation in hospitals continues to be worrying, where currently 124 patients are treated, and 18 are in intensive therapy 7 of which are intubated,” she said.
The OHCS Director repeated the Health Ministry’s appeal to citizens: “Be careful by following the rules. Use the masks anywhere indoors, when entering the supermarkets, shops, offices and any public places where you cannot keep your distance. A call especially for young people to show caution because the virus does not recognize age and makes no selection. Your cooperation is crucial to win the fight against the dangerous virus and curb its spread.”
In addition Cami said that 507 tests were performed on suspects affected by COVID19 of which 92 positive cases were confirmed. In the meantime 53 citizens have recovered, bringing the total number of cured people to 2883 since the outbreak of the epidemic.
As of July 30, statistics of the C19 impact on Albanian citizens are as follows: Total tests – 40,699; positive cases- 5,197; recovered persons – 2,883; active affected persons – 2,160; fatalities 154. /argumentum.al
