TIRANA – The Ministry of Health reported on Tuesday that 130 cases have been confirmed positive, thus marking another new record of COVID-19 infection in the country during the last 24 hours.
Also, during this period of time, four other patients at the two Covid hospitals in Tirana lost the battle with the coronavirus, bringing to 176 the total number of victims of the severe virus.
“The situation is serious where there are still new cases identified by epidemiological tracing and investigation, as well as citizens in need of medical treatment in the two Covid hospitals,” said Dr. Eugena Tomini from the Institute of Public Health on Tuesday.
There were 72 cases in Tirana out of the total cases while the number of the rest of the infected persons varied from 13 to 1 in different areas across the country.
“Please be careful in the workplace, where services are provided and in any public environment to respect the measures of hygiene, physical distance. Respect social distance, mask wearing, personal and collective hygiene as they are the only ways to curb the spread of COVID19,” said Dr. Tomini.
Alarming worries were expressed on Tuesday by Health Minister Ogerta Manastirliu who told Albanians “we are preparing for a difficult situation in autumn and winter… Get prepared for the new normalcy.”/argumentum.al
