TIRANA – The Independent Qualification Commission (KPC) confirmed on Thursday in office with a majority of votes the head of the Court of Tirana, Petrit Como. The latter has previously been a member of the High Council of Justice.
Judge Como started his career in the justice system in 2000 and worked for almost two decades as a vice president of the Court of Tirana. In 2015, he was elected a member of the High Council of Justice, a position he held until the dissolution of this institution.
Como’s administrative investigation was conducted for all three vetting criteria, including his wealth, individual image and professionalism.
“In the property file published by the media, it turned out that Como has ambiguities in the declaration of a part of the income related to the rental of a real estate,” said Balkanweb on Thursday. Media reports claimed that the main part of the judge’s income is inherited assets, but there was uncertainty about their declaration in the asset declarations of a few years ago.
These property uncertainties were also noticed in the report of the Inspectorate of declaration of assets, but apparently everything has been clarified in Thursday’s session./argumentum.al
