TIRANA – Two victims and 152 infected cases with COVID-19 are registered in Albania during the last 24 hours, said the Ministry of Health on Friday.
A total of 864 tests were performed on Friday as the 2 victims were registered in the COVID hospitals in Tirana – a 61-year-old from Korça and an 83-year-old from Mirdita.
There are already a total of 240 victims in Albania from COVID-19. Regarding new cases, Tirana had 73 more, followed by Korça with 19 cases, Berat with 9 and Durrës with 8.
“We clarify that the tests include tests in public structures and cases for confirmation of diagnosis that are suspected or positive in non-public licensed structures, according to the assessment of the IPH,” said the medical bulletin released on Friday.
Currently in the Infectious Diseases Hospital and “Shefqet Ndroqi” Hospital 137 patients confirmed positive with COVID-19
are being treated and 24 are in intensive therapy of which 7 patients are intubated.
As of August 21 the COVID-19 statistics are as follows in Albania: Total tests 54,435, positive cases 8,119, cured cases 4,096, active cases 3,783 and fatalities 240. /argumentum.al
