TIRANA – This Monday marked the highest number of infected persons with COVID-19 in Albania climbing the peak of 178 new cases, according to the daily medical bulletin.
“During the last 24 hours, 947 tests have been performed in the country. The number of tests performed includes tests in two public laboratories, which made 749 tests and 198 tests were made in non-public laboratories,” Eugena Tomini from the Institute of Public Health (ISHP) revealed on Monday.
Currently in the Infectious Diseases Hospital and “Shefqet Ndroqi” Hospital 151 patients confirmed positive with COVID-19 are being treated and 15 are in intensive therapy of which 5 patients are intubated.
“We inform you that in both COVID hospitals there are also receiving specialized service 40 citizens who have been positive with COVID-19 and are currently negative, but are continuing to receive hospital treatment for the consequences of the disease. Patients suspected of having COVID19 continue to be treated, according to the relevant protocols,” said Tomini.
In the meantime she announced that despite the efforts of doctors, unfortunately, a 57-year-old and a 75-year-old from Tirana, a 72-year-old from Durrës and an 88-year-old from Kruja, with concomitant diseases, could not win the battle with the disease in the two COVID hospitals in Tirana.
