TIRANA – The chairman of the Democratic Party (DP), Lulzim Basha, has called on the ethnic Albanians in Montenegro to turn out en masse in the parliamentary elections of August 30 and to vote for the Albanian parties.
Basha’s strong appeal came after the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, in a public message on Wednesday called on Albanians there to vote for President Milo Djukanovic.
The DP head said that through the vote for Albanian parties Albanians can ensure the protection of their rights and interests and guarantee a better future for their children.
“We are proud of the fact that Albanians in Montenegro have played a key role in achieving Montenegro’s independence and fulfilling the aspiration for NATO membership,” he said.
In addition, Basha noted that the strengthening the representation of Albanian parties in parliament is an increased contribution to peace and stability in the country, to guaranteeing the rights of Albanians in Montenegro and to the European integration of the country and the region./argumentum.al
