The parliamentary opposition has ready the draft for the changes to the electoral code that will be submitted to the Parliament which has similarities with what majority proposes regarding the pre-election coalitions but demands a 1 percent threshold which is lower than that proposed by majority standing at 3 percent.
In contrast to the SP draft, which provides that the electoral threshold be 3 per cent, the parliamentary opposition demands that the electoral threshold be 1 per cent in its draft signed by 8 MPs of the parliamentary opposition, including Myslim Murrizi and Rudina Hajdari.
“The electoral subjects that receive fewer than 1 percent of the valid votes at the national level in the parliamentary elections
are excluded from the distribution of mandates,” it is said in the draft of the parliamentary opposition.
Earlier, during her speech in Thursday’s plenary session of Parliament, MP Rudina Hajdari accused the Prime Minister, Edi Rama, at the same time chairman of the Socialist Party, that he is trying to deceive Albanians with his version of 100 percent open lists, which, according to her, are in fact totally closed as the deputies are selected according to the preference of the party chairman.
“This big fraud reached its climax when the Socialist Party made a proposal for opening lists, which in fact are totally closed. This deception of Edi Rama will be ranked as one of the biggest frauds that has been done in 30 years,” said Hajdari.
Further on she had some questions as the following: “How do you deceive Albanians in this way? How can you do that? I have an answer: you are afraid of the people. You are afraid of the vote of the Albanian citizens. You can’t stand in front of the Albanian citizens, in front of the young men and women today.”
In conclusion of her remarks MP Rudina Hajdari said in one of the harshest attacks on Rama that he couldn’t confront Albanian citizens. “You can’t face them as the ones who will determine who will be their representative,” said Hajdari. /argumentum.al
