Masks’ wearing will be mandatory everywhere except home and restaurant or bars when you are sitting starting from next Monday, has said Prime Minister Edi Rama.
This was announced by Rama in a press statement with the Minister of Health, Ogerta Manastirliu on Saturday.
“The mask has not been mandatory here or in many foreign countries, it has not been considered necessary by international experts and as you know it is a topic that has been discussed. But from next week it will be mandatory everywhere except home and restaurants or bars when you are sitting at the table to spend that part of the time there,” said the government head.
Further on Rama said masks’ wearing will be mandatory in every environment, every streets, every public space and punitive measures will be applied to everyone and the fine will be included in the electricity bill.
“Let no individual have any illusions to avoid the fine. All countries of the region are moving towards this measure. I think the fine will be the last and should not be the reason why people should wear the mask.
We are in a battle to systematize relations with all services and businesses by getting rid of those inspectors who destroy these relations,” said Rama.
But he made it clear that the state and municipal police will monitor the whole territory and will exert zero tolerance regarding masks’ wearing.
In conclusion Rama said: “If fines are placed in traditional ways regarding businesses, they will be included in the electricity bill for individuals.”/ argumentum.al
