Prime Minister Edi Rama has requested from the Europapark Forum in Munich, Germany, the start of negotiations for Albania’s membership in the European Union. As Albania awaits the first intergovernmental conference that would mark the official start of the process, the Prime Minister urged European leaders to say ‘yes’.
Rama said a house could not function if the little grandchildren veto the grandparents.
“I can not imagine a house that could function well if the little grandchildren veto the grandparents,” he said. Rama didn’t specify who is who…
On the other hand, he denied that there is an Albanian crime, linking the refusal for negotiations with the internal political issues of France and the Netherlands.
“Albanian crime does not exist. There is no Albanian crime.”
In the meantime Rama called very weird the relationship between Albania and EU. “We are in love with a blind love for Europe. But how we can get married when Europe is not talking to us. Negotiations are the most important thing for our countries. To deprive countries of the instrument of negotiations is nonsense.”
Focusing on the region, Rama said that the countries already have this very good first result of the Chancellor’s initiative in 2014, when she brought together in Berlin for the first time in history 6 governments and leaders of the WB to sit down and talk about the future.
