The rejection to wait for the verdict of the Venice Commission before the review of the electoral code by the one-party Parliament has been considered as bad omen for them free and fair elections in Albania.
This comment was made by the Head of the Union for Human Rights Party (UHRP), Vangjel Dule in a post on social networks on Tuesday.
“The reaction not only the rejection but also the nervousness of the majority to the natural request of the European authorities to wait for the verdict of the Venice Commission before the review of the electoral code by the one-party Parliament did not come as a surprise to anyone,” said Dule whose party represents the.Greek minority in Albania.
This proves that their concepts of free and fair elections are bad omen for Albania which hold general elections on April 25 next year.
“But above and beyond the elections, it raises the question: Does the government and its leader Edi Rama) really want European integration?! Do they honestly work for him?! The King is naked!” said UHRP’s head.
Prime Minister Edi Rama has expressed his determination that the majority will adopt the Electoral Code again without any changes after President’s refusal to decree it without waiting for the opinion of the Venice Commission.
According to reports, the parliamentary law committee will take up for discussion the issue on Tuesday. /argumentum.al
