University classes starting Monday for this academic year in Albania will be conducted “online” in order to curb the further spread of the pandemic. This was the announcement of the Minister of Education, Ervis Kuci made on Sunday in a message on FB to students and professors.
“This is not an easy decision imposed by the progress and dynamics of the pandemic, but which fortunately has found our universities prepared in advance so that teaching can start and develop without interruption,” said the minister.
Kushi pointed out that this year is challenging due to the situation created by the coronavirus. According to her, the decision of the Committee of Experts provides for online learning for at least 1 month.
“Finally, a plead to all of you: not to neglect at any time the observance of anti-COVID measures. This is the only way for us to overcome this period as easily as possible and return to normalcy as soon as possible so that we all want. Good luck and good health to all!” said the minister.
The pandemic has taken frightening proportions in Albania with rising fatalities and infections. According to official data, 7 people were confirmed dead taking the death toll to 509. In its announcement the health ministry said there are many young people hit by the virus and as evidence reveal they are the most potential source of the spread of the virus. /argumentum.al
