The Head of the OSCE Presence in Albania, Ambassador Vincenzo Del Monaco, met on Wednesday for the first time with the Chair of the Constitutional Court, Vitore Tusha, to pay respect to her and to discuss the strengthening of the co-operation between the Presence and this crucial institution for upholding the rule of law and the fundamental rights of citizens in Albania, said a press release issued by OSCE’s prss office in Tirana.
The Presence recently supported the Court to develop a multi-year strategy and an action plan with the aim of ensuring the efficiency and transparency of the Constitutional Court and contributing to the implementation of justice reform in the country.
Del Monaco wished much success to the newest member of Court, Altin Binaj, who was sworn in on Tuesday before President Ilir Meta and expressed his belief that further co-operation among the relevant Albanian institutions will make the Constitutional Court fully functional very soon.
He stressed that the Presence stands ready to continue assisting the Court to enhance its effectiveness and transparency. /argumentum.al
