A World War II bomb has been found in Tirana, which was detonated in a controlled manner by the Armed Forces.
The news is announced by the Minister of Defense, Olta Xhaçka, in a post on FB on Sunday saying that the bomb weighed 500 kg and was found in the former aviation field in the capital of Albania.
“Our engineering forces, which celebrate the 100th anniversary of their creation after a few weeks, reconfirm that the Armed Forces are a model of dedication and professionalism,” she said.
Further on the Minister gave details according to which the 500 kg World War II bomb was found in the former aviation field in the capital. “Our talented boys moved it to the Biza polygon, where it was detonated in a controlled and completely safe manner,” Xhaçka said.
