In face of the unprecedented events unfolding in the US capital Washington on January 6 when supporters of outgoing president Donald Trump stormed violently the Capitol, Ambassador Yuri Kim recalled on Saturday her oath made a year ago before taking office in US Embassy in Tirana.
“I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic,” said Ambassador Kim in a post on Twitter.
Earlier on January 8 in her first reaction on the dramatic events which have shocked the US and the world Kim said democracy is not easy and it must not be taken for granted by anyone.
Below what the US Ambassador posted on Twitter on Saturday:
“Exactly 1 year ago – in the presence of friends and ifamily, with my hand on a Bible handwritten by my mother – I swore that “I will support & defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic.” For US public servants, our Oath of Office is sacred.” /argumentum.al
