On Monday, the 1st of February, the Republic of Kosovo will formally establish diplomatic relations with the State of Israel, Kosovo’s Foreign Ministry has confirmed.
The ceremony on establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries will be held virtually and will be attended by Kosovo’s caretaker minister of Foreign Affairs, Meliza Haradinaj-Stublla and Israeli Foreign Minister, Gabriel Ashkenazi.
Recognition from Israel is one of the biggest achievements since Kosovo declared its independence in February 2008 and has since been recognised by some European countries and the US.
Kosovo’s caretaker Foreign Minister thanked the United States for making possible the recognition from Israel. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that further details of the ceremony will be announced in due time.
