The first supply of 192, 000 doses of the Chinese Sinovac vaccine against the coronavirus arrived in Tirana on Thursday.

“We have provided 1 million more vaccines and we have contracted half a million doses within 60 days. We bring 192 thousand to Tirana today. For more information after a few hours in Rinas and when I tell you we will succeed, never doubt that we will succeed. # AlbaniaBuzëqesh,” wrote Rama from Istanbul on Thursday before the departure for Tirana.
The deal is classified as “trade secret”, which means that the price won’t be revealed.
Last week, the government decided to enter negotiations with any company that could provide any COVID-19 vaccine approved in the country of origin. The decision was approved in parliament on Tuesday.
Albania has so far received limited supplies of the US Pfizer vaccine, UK AstraZeneca and Russian Sputnik V.
Rama wrote ealier on a Twitter post on Wednesday evening “We will succeed, if we don’t succeed, no one else can. In Istanbul for many more vaccines”.
According to the act, the Minister of Health Ogerta Manastirliu and the Minister of State for Reconstruction, Arben Ahmetaj are responsible for receiving the supply of vaccines. /argumentum.al
