The US Ambassador, Yuri Kim has reacted on a debate held in the Commission of Complaints and Sanctions (KAS) regarding the similarity of the logos between the Democratic Party (DP) and the Democratic Conviction party. The discussion at KAS was closed with a change of the standard ballot paper according to which names will be replaced with numbers which was also a request of the ruling Socialist Party.
Touching upon this issue Washington’s top diplomat in Tirana considered as absolutely critical for Albanian authorities to ensure that the rules and terms of the election are transparent.
Ambassador Kim said the following posted on Twitter on Saturday: “Reminder: It is absolutely critical for authorities to ensure that the rules and terms of the election are – in fact and in perception – fair, timely, and transparent. Anything less would be a disservice to voters and a step back for democracy.” /argumentum.al
