One of the most confidential collaborators and top advisors, Socialist Party (SP) deputy Spartak Braho has become one of the most zealous actors of the drive to dismiss President Ilir Meta being super active in the investigative parliamentary commission set up for the second time to get the head of state out of office.
After asking for the expediting of the work of the Commission, the appointment of the spokesperson, in Monday’s meeting Braho was furious at the appointment of the experts who will deal with the evidence to prove that Meta is guilty and should be sacked.
“A good expertise is the road to success, a bad expertise puts you into grave… Tell us who are these experts, which are their titles? Are they people taken from the street,” Braho told the chairman of the Commission, Alket Hyseni, who announced that all the official information from all institutions would be available for the members of the Commission within the current week.
In addition, he said that May 18 was set as the date of the first hearing session with the President but he said they were flexible so that a discussion will be held with the presidential office. However, according to him, the session will be held within the next week. A session set to be held on May 6 failed because of the President’s engagements among which the talks with the Slovenian President Borut Pahor who paid a one -day work visit to Tirana.
But the interventions of Braho in Commission’s deliberations were very aggressive telling the chairman and the other members that the expertise is the most important process.
”This Commission’s task is to judge if the President has violated the Constitution… The experts should have a high qualification because they are judging the President,” said Braho, who has been the most loyal advocate of Meta in different disputes and he is known in the most pejorative way becoming a loving stock for a black bag he kept threatening his adversaries with it by saying that he has compromising files within it against all political leaders of different political camps.
“All the charges against the President, almost all, are reflected in filmed materials including his declarations and the written statements. I would want them all to be transcribed. I have dealt with such experiences before. If we have them transcribed it will be more serious for the Commission,” said Braho.
President Meta has downplayed the Commission and its accusations saying that he will stay in the office till the end of his mandate in July 2022. /argumentum.al
