Public order and security have been seriously damaged and require new effective measures to guarantee them in order to protect the life, health and property of citizens, said President Ilir Meta.
Meta made that comment in a post on social networks on Sunday after 4 people were killed and 2 others were injured in a shootout at Velipoja beach, northwestern Albania.
According to Meta, the clash with firearms in Velipoja, with 4 victims and 2 injured, is another shocking event, which requires a full investigation of the circumstances and causes.
“I have long called on the State Police and other security and law enforcement structures to do their utmost to keep the country’s territory under surveillance, which poses an increased risk of conflict, in order to timely prevention of these grave criminal offenses.”
President said armed conflicts in public places and at the peak of the tourist season endanger the lives and health of dozens of citizens, but on the other hand they seriously damage the image of Albania to domestic and foreign tourists.
