There was a slight increase of the Covid-19 infected people in Albania on Saturday.
In the last 24 hours, 3036 tests were performed, of which 8 persons tested positive with Covid-19: 2 cases in Tirana, 2 in Devoll, 1 case in Shkodra, Elbasan, Vlora, Saranda, said official authorities.
There are currently 55 active patients with Covid-19. At the Infectious Diseases Hospital in Tirana 3 patients are receiving specialized hospital treatment. No loss of lives has been reported.
But the senior official of the Democratic Party (DP), Tritan Shehu raised the alarm that Albania is among the countries most endangered by the virus for months to come.
“Maximum pressure must be exerted on the government to discontinue Chinese vaccines, outside of European standards and far from their protective effectiveness,” Shehu said in a post on FB on Saturday.
According to him, the reality is that the Delta variant of the virus has entered Albania.
Shehu, a former health minister, said: “So far we are at the ‘top of the world’ for Covid losses of lives, health and economy, with about 16,000 deaths. We can only pray that we will not be even worse tomorrow because vaccination or other preventive measures are vainless! ” /argumentum.al
