About 15 kilograms of cocaine have been seized in the largest Albanian Seaport of Durres in a container with bananas in an operation where dozens of police forces participated, police authorities said on Tuesday.
The drugs were divided into 14 packages hidden in the air conditioner space of the vehicle, while 3 people were escorted, including two administrators of the “Alba Exotic Fruit” company.
The cocaine had arrived a few days earlier from Ecuador.
The State Police sources said that the preliminary verifications showed that the container, which had Albania as the final destination and the amount of bananas was ordered by “Alba Exotic Fruit”, was transited from Morocco, and then Greece and finally entered Durrës seaport. / Argumentum.al
